A back and forth offensive onslaught saw Sacred Heart Gremlins baseball defeat Lincoln 14-13 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game during a consolation game at the Kaysinger Tournament.

Sacred Heart built a five-run lead in the top of the seventh inning and then held off Lincoln's charge in the bottom half.  Lincoln scored four runs on a grand slam in the seventh inning.

Bryan Schlotterbeck was credited with the victory for Sacred Heart Gremlins Varsity. He lasted four innings in relief, allowing ten hits and seven runs while striking out two.

Caden Smallwood took the loss for Lincoln. He went one and two-thirds innings in relief, allowing six runs on four hits.

Zaine Dover started the game for the Sacred Heart Gremlins varsity team. He lasted three innings, allowing four hits and six runs while striking out five. Jackson Beaman started the game for Lincoln. He allowed four hits and five runs over three innings, striking out seven.

Sacred Heart saw the ball well, racking up 10 hits in the game. Dover, Dallin Chappell, and Nolan Walker all managed multiple hits for the gremlins. Dover led led the way with four hits in four at bats, including a home run and a double to go along with four RBIs.

Lincoln tallied 14 hits in the game. Jackson  Beaman, Evan Schwedler, Hayden Beaman and Bays each collected multiple hits for Lincoln.
