The Sacred Heart Swimmers had a big night Wednesday, Jan. 15 at an 11-team meet in Raytown, according to head coach Patti Hegger.

The 200 Freestyle Relay swimmers placed second overall out of 12 teams.

Sacred Heart's relay included Maia Smith, Allie Ferguson, Arly Ponce and Kate Carney. Arly Ponce placed second overall out of 25 in the 100 Breaststroke, and broke her personal record, shaving over half a second off her time. Arly also placed fourth out of 30 in the 50 Freetyle Sprint.

Kate Carney had big finishes in the 50 free sprint, six out of 30, and third place in the 100 free, out of 27 swimmers.

Allie Fergson broke her personal record in the 200 free, cutting five seconds of her time, placing 11th out of 28.

Mia Smith placed in the 100 free, at 12th out of 27.

Kelsey Hudson broke her personal record in the 100 backstroke, cutting 17 seconds off her time.

The Gremlins will swim this Saturday at a home invitational meet, co-hosting with Smith-Cotton at Sedalia Middle School, 2205 South Ingram.
