Sacred Heart swimmers had a night of personal records set at Belton High School Wednesday night. 

There were seven teams  included,  Belton, Ray-Pec, Oak Park, Staley, North Kansas City, Smith-Cotton and Sacred Heart.

The Medley Relay team of Maia Smith, Allie Ferguson, Arly Ponce and Kate Carney shaved five seconds off their time to gain a team record low score.

In the 200 Freestyle, Arly Ponce gained a personal record shaving four seconds off her time, and placing 12th out of 28. Arlys big finish for the night was in the 100 breaststroke, placing fourth out of 21.

Kate Carney set her second personal record this season in the 50 free, coming in 14th out of 60, and cutting two tenths of a second off her time. Kate also placed well in the 100 breaststroke, placing ninth out of 21 swimmers.

Allie Ferguson place well in the 200 individual medley, with a seventh place finish out of 17.  Allie had a big finish in the 100 backstroke finishing 14th out of 44, and setting another personal record, cutting one second from her time.

Kelsey Hudson had a personal record in the 100 backstroke, cutting one second from her time.

The Sacred Heart free relay team of Maia Smith, Allie Ferguson, Arly Ponce and Kate Carney had a big accomplishment, taking fifth place out of 16 teams, and continuing to finish with a time under state consideration.

The next meet for the Smith-Cotton/Sacred Heart squad is Wednesday, Feb. 5 at the Sedalia Middle School against the Columbia Missouri Schools, said SH head coach Patti Hegger.
