Sacred Heart Volleyball Ends Season in Quarterfinals

Sacred Heart volleyball defeated Rich Hill in a state sectional game at Rich Hill 2 sets to 0, 25-20 & 25-16.

Grace Goodwin and Maria Mergen led the back row defense with 18 and 11 digs. Emma Siron led the net defense with 5 kill blocks and numerous soft blocks to extend rallies.

Offensively, Emma had 15 kills, Kiley Beykirch had 6 and Kaytlin Kempf had 4.
In the Quarterfinals vs Calvary Lutheran, Sacred Heart lost 1 set to 2. The Gremlins won the 1st set 25-19, following a late rally. The teams were tied at 14 before the Gremlins outscored the Lions 11-5.

In set 2 Calvary Lutheran jumped out to a 10-3. The girls fought back into 23 to 24, before losing 23-25.

Set 3 was mostly the Lions as Sacred Heart struggled to get a clean ball to their setters. The Lady Gremlins lost 25-14.

Kaytlin Kempf had 8 blocks.
Maria Mergen had 16 digs.
Kiley Beykirch had 11 digs

Offensively:
Emma Siron 18 kills & 6 aces.
Kiley had 7 kills.

The Lady Gremlins finished with 19-11-3 record.

Calvary Lutheran finished 23-6-3, while Rich Hill finished 14-14-1.
