Sacred Heart Volleyball hosted the Concordia Orioles at home in the McGremlin Gym on Senior night.

Concordia's Varsity came tonight undefeated with a 17-0-2 and in a five set marathon the Sacred Heart Gremlins beat Concordia 17-25, 25-19, 14-25, 25-13, 16-14.

JV came up a little short, losing 12-25, 14-25.

This was an emotional night for the Varsity girls as they had been planning their surprise to honor the two Seniors on the team for several weeks.

Junior Mairana Restrepo told Senior #4 Kiley Beykirch she'd miss her leadership, kindness, and friendship and that she hoped to learn to be a teammate like Beykirch in her absence next season.  Restrepo also laughed and joked with Beykirch about how many times while being announced at schools around our area - they could never pronounce her last name "BEY-KIRK!"

Junior Emma Siron was up next to tell Senior Libero #25 Emily McDonald how much she will be missed.  Their journey began running around while their older siblings played volleyball and the next thing she knew, they were in high school on the same team.  Siron said she will definitely miss McDonalds "bubbly" personality and said she will miss her "best friend" when she graduates.

The Seniors came ready to play against Concordia, Beykirch contributed 52 assists, 2 aces, and 2 kills.  McDonald led the team in digs with 21 for the night.  Siron had 33 kills, 21 digs. This brings the Varsity record to 19-8-1.  Both teams travel to their last regular season match against Conference rivals Tipton (6-9) before beginning Class 1, District 14 competition Thursday vs Green Ridge (11-17-2)  in Santa Fe (Alma).

Concordia is now 20-2-2.
