On Monday morning, Sacred Heart senior Kate Carney signed to attend Kansas State University this fall and will join the rowing team, currently under the direction of head coach Patrick Sweeney.

K-State is a Division 1 school with a state-of-the-art rowing facility.

Carney came to Sacred Heart in 2017 and in the duration of her high school career, has been a standout student and athlete, according to SH Atheltic Director Amanda Blackburn.

She is a multi-sport athlete, participating in Volleyball, Basketball, Track and Field, choir, and was previously on the swim and dive team.

Kate works hard in everything that she does and is always willing to take on a new sport, she has determination and perseverance in all that she does.

Due to NCAA restrictions, the K-State coach was not present.
