The Missouri School Public Relations Association gives its members the opportunity to have their work evaluated by PR professionals and measured against industry standards.

In the 2022 MOSPRA Communications Awards Program, Sedalia School District 200 was recognized with an Award of Excellence in the Writing category for the farewell commentary by former Superintendent Steve Triplett, and an Award of Commendation in the Video (1-Person Shop) category for “Lunch With Ollie,” a school lunch review series featuring Washington Elementary School student Ollie Pettis.

Each submission in the program was judged by two professionals in the field of education public relations. One of the category judges of the Writing entry wrote: “This was superbly written, and came across as reflective and inspiring.” For the Video entry, a judge said, “This a difficult topic to keep the viewers interest. You made that happen with this video."

MOSPRA President Erica Chandler said: “The MOSPRA Communications Awards Program not only recognizes exemplary school public relations programs, but also provides valuable feedback from public relations professionals to help our members continue to improve their work. Congratulations to this year's honorees on this well-deserved recognition.”
