Sedalia Area Crime Reports for December 4, 2018
Sedalia Police say drugs and drug paraphernalia were located as they conducted a December 1 warrant check in the 100 block of E. 4th St.; two people were arrested. Police confirmed that 33-year-old Andrea L. Brown had active warrants from both the City of Sedalia and Pettis County on charges including stealing, trespassing, and burglary. Brown was taken to the Pettis County Jail on the warrants, and was placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of state charges for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 46-year-old Brett M. Langer was also taken into custody and placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of state charges for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A 53-year-old Sedalia woman was arrested on December 2 after officers responded to the Sedalia Walmart regarding a theft report. Police say officers discovered that Raynetta F. Roberts attempted to steal approximately $170 worth of merchandise. As she was arrested, police reportedly found a small amount of a crystal substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, along with several items of drug paraphernalia. Roberts was taken to the Pettis County Jail.
A Sedalia woman was arrested following a fatal accident on US 65 on December 3. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2013 Dodge was traveling north in the southbound lane, just south of Claycomb Road, and struck a 1999 Toyota head-on. A passenger in the Toyota, 76-year-old Myrtle L. Argie of Warsaw, was killed. 86-year-old George R. Argie of Warsaw suffered minor injuries. He was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center by PCAD for treatment. The driver of the Dodge, 43-year-old Dolores R. Letourneau of Sedalia, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Bothwell by PCAD for treatment. Letourneau was later arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail for multiple offences, including felony DWI. Both vehicles were totaled.
22-year-old Jonathan M. Rockett of Smithton was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a variety of charges, including felony leaving the scene of a crash, driving while intoxicated, no valid operator's license, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that Rockett was arrested in Pettis County around 9:56 p.m. on December 3.
