Sedalia Police responded to a motor vehicle accident around 7:30 p.m. on May 15 and arrested a 39-year-old woman on a variety of charges. According to a police report, an investigation found that a vehicle had traveled at a high rate of speed on E. Boonville St. when the driver lost control at the Katy Trail crossing. The vehicle struck a tree and the driver suffered a minor injury. Rachel A. Cross of Sedalia was arrested at the scene for driving while intoxicated, improper lane usage, no proof of insurance and no license plate. Cross was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail.


On May 15, Sedalia Police were dispatched to Breaktime in the 800 block of Broadway Blvd. on a report of a counterfeit bill being passed. The manager of the store told officers that two white females had entered the store and purchased items with a counterfeit $50 bill. Police say the suspects have not been located, but the business was able to provide surveillance footage of the incident. The counterfeit bill was collected and placed into evidence storage.


Sedalia Police were called on May 15 to assist the Pettis County Ambulance District with a patient that had locked himself inside his house and refused to come to the door. Contact was made with the patient, who refused to comply. The patient was forcibly held down and administered sedation, and was then transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment. The patient was not identified in an incident report from the Sedalia Police Department.
