The Sedalia City Council officially approved an agreement with the Missouri Department of Conservation for property management at Spring Fork Lake during a 12-minute meeting Monday night.

Mayor Pro Tem Foster told Council members she visited Spring Fork recently and noted that the area “looks so much better” now.

A request for a 4-way stop sign at 3rd and Park at the entrance to Liberty Park was denied. The Citizen’s Traffic Advisory Commission voted 6-0 on Jan. 14 to not recommend the stop signs at that particular intersection, citing accident data, traffic counts and other pertinent data.

The proposal died on the floor Monday night.

Council then formally rejected all bids for the DCBG Sidewalk Improvement project. It was determined that not all required bid documents were property completed and submitted in accordance with CDBG requirements.

City Administrator Matt Wirt indicated that “contractors misunderstood” the requirements and will be given another opportunity to fill out the forms properly.

The project will later be advertised again and re-bid in accordance with proper procurement procedures.

There were no items under consideration for Public Safety or Community Development.

One liquor license was granted and eleven renewals were approved by Council Monday night in block.
