A 20-year old Sedalia man was recently arrested for possession of meth after a traffic stop in Tipton.

The Moniteau County Sheriff's Department says on January 8, deputies noticed a vehicle with no front license plate traveling north on Hwy 5 towards Tipton. Deputies stopped the vehicle in Tipton and made contact with the driver, 20-year old Cody Edgar, of Sedalia.

Deputies say Edgar was extremely nervous and failed to answer questions. A consent to search the car was reportedly denied. Tipton Police were also on scene and a K-9 unit was deployed and gave a positive alert for drugs inside Edgar's car.

Deputies reportedly located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the car.

Edgar was arrested and taken to the Moniteau County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance (meth). He had a bond of $25,000.00.
