Sedalia Mayor Andrew Dawson issued a statement on Facebook this morning just before 7 a.m.:

I want to provide you with an update on our city’s road conditions. Due to the recent weather, a layer of ice has unfortunately covered our emergency routes and side streets, leading to poor driving conditions.
Our dedicated Street Crew is actively addressing this situation. Applying salt to the emergency snow routes, ensuring these critical paths are safe and navigable. Once this is accomplished, they will promptly move to treating the side streets.
I urge all Sedalians to exercise extreme caution if traveling is necessary. Please give our crews space to work safely and efficiently. Your safety and the accessibility of our city are our highest priorities.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding during these challenging conditions.
Stay safe and warm!

After receiving freezing rain overnight, the forecast for Sedalia calls for a high of 44 Tuesday, with more showers expected overnight.
