On April 18, Sedalia Police reponded to the 400 block of E. Chestnut to investigate a report of an intoxicated person lying in the roadway. While arriving to the area, police observed a vehicle matching the one that the subject had reportedly been driving, leaving the area. The vehicle turned onto Emmet Ave and reportedly swerved, nearly striking the patrol vehicle. After a short pursuit, the suspect, identified as 36-year old Thomas A. Martinez, was taken into custody. Martines was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center due to a high level of intoxication. After being released from the hospital, Martinez was taken to the Pettis County Jail. Charges of DWI, Assault on Law Enforcement and Resisting Arrest are being requested.


In the early morning hours of April 18, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of E. Broadway and S. Garfield Ave on a vehicle with a licensing issue. Investigation reportedly revealed the driver, 46-year old Ruben Lee Gonzales, to be driving while suspended, as well as in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Gonzales was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released pending state charges.


On April 19, Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle near the intersection of E. Broadway and S. Lamine Ave. Investigation reportedly revealed the driver, 31-year old Ashley M. Allen, to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. Allen was placed on a twenty-four hold in the Pettis County Jail, pending state drug charges.


On April 19, Sedalia Police took a burglary report from Strouse Chiropractic, located in the 1800 block of W. 5th Street. Someone had broken into the business during the overnight hours. There was damage to a door and window, valued at $500.00. The police report also says $150 in cash was stolen. A neighboring business, BeDell Chiropractic, also reported someone unlawfully entered the business and stole an unknown amount of change. There is no suspect information at this time.


On April 20, police took a report from Casey's, located in the 3000 block of S. Limit, that an employee was observed on surveillance video taking a $100 bill from the cash register. At the time of the report, the employee had not been located.


Just after 6:00 Saturday morning (April 20), Sedalia Police responded to the 800 block of W. 14th Street for a fight in progress. The caller stated her husband had entered the residence and assaulted another man that was in the house. After investigation, 56-year old Frank J. Wilson was arrested for 4th Degree Assault. Wilson was placed on a twenty-four hold in the Pettis County Jail. The victim reportedly declined medical treatment at the scene.


On April 20, Sedalia Police were dispatched to Wood's Express, located in the 700 block of E. Broadway, for a theft report. Staff said that someone had taken beer from the store without paying. The suspect and merchandise were located a short time later. The suspect, 32-year old David A. Macias, was taken into custody and was reportedly related to several other incidents in the area. No further details were available in the report.


On April 21, Sedalia Police responded to the 1800 block of E. 12th Street for a theft report. The complainant stated his wife stole forty .5mg Klonopin tablets that were prescribed to him. The investigation is ongoing and no further details were available in the report.


Just before 2:00 Sunday afternoon (April 21), Sedalia Police recognized a male subject walking in the area of E. Main Street and S. Washington Ave, who reportedly had an active warrant. When officers stopped the patrol vehicle, the man reportedly ran from the area but was located a short time later and arrested. The warrant was confirmed to be for Parole Violation. The suspect, 39-year old Kevin A. Clark, of Hughesville, was taken to the Pettis County Jail with no bond.
