Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop near South Limit and West 16th Street around 9:00 Monday night (June 26), for a vehicle traveling 54 mph in a 35 mph zone. A computer check revealed the driver had an active warrant for an Insufficient Funds Check from McDonald County. The driver, 50-year old Phillip S. Latta, of Lincoln, MO, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with a bond of $139.50.


Around 9:30 Monday morning (June 26), Sedalia Police performed a traffic stop at Main Street and Limit Ave for a minor traffic violation. It was revealed that the suspect had a suspended driver's license. The suspect, 33-year old Justin Blair Stevens, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.


At 7:45 Monday night (June 26), Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop near West 4th Street and South Kentucky Ave. According to the report, the driver had a suspended license. Police arrested the driver, 24-year old Jade N. Turner, for Driving While Suspended. Turner was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released.


Around 9:15 Sunday night (June 25), Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Kentucky Ave and 17th Street. According to the report, the suspect's license was revoked. Officers arrested the suspect, 28-year old James I. Rickett, of Mexico, MO. Rickett was placed on a twenty-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail.


Just after 6:00 Tuesday morning (June 27), Sedalia Police responded to the 600 block of East 9th Street, in reference to a theft. The victim told police that sometime overnight, someone had entered the victim's unlocked vehicle and stole a black 9mm Ruger SR9C. The handgun is valued at $500. There are no suspects at this time.
