Around 11:00 Thursday morning (August 11), Sedalia Police officers took a report of property damage to a vehicle in the 1000 block of West Wilkerson Avenue. The owner reported the right rear passenger tire had been punctured. The spare tire and the passenger’s side-front tire had been punctured as well, while the vehicle was parked in the roadway.

 

On Wednesday (August 10), officers took a report of a theft that occurred in the 1600 block of South Carr Avenue. A debit card and a 55-inch television had been stolen from the residence. There is a person of interest in the case, but no names have been released.

 

On Thursday (August 11), officers took a report of theft in the 500 block of West 3rd Street. The victim reported the theft of three bicycles, in the last week. The value of the bikes was placed at around $300.00. There are no suspects at this time.

 

On Thursday (August 11), officers responded to the 900 block of East 9th Street for a burglary not-in-progress. The victim stated someone kicked in the back door of the home. Wires had also been cut to the electrical box in the basement. The damage was estimated at $3,200.00.

 

Around 4:00 Wednesday afternoon (August 10), officers conducted a subject check at Bothwell Regional Health Center. A drunk man was asking for money. Upon contact with the man, Police officers offered him a ride home but he refused. He agreed to walk home. However, the man did not comply and went into a doctor’s office and closed the door. The man, who is identified as 49-year old Jessie Robert Smith, was arrested for a public peace disturbance.

 

On Wednesday (August 10), officers took a report of a missing person at Parkview Estates, in the 1300 block of East 24th Street. Officers spoke with a caretaker, who said the resident was missing. The resident had last been seen by her roommate at 10:30 that evening. There were no other details listed in that report.

 

Around 9:00 Wednesday morning (August 10), officers took a report of stealing. The victim stated someone stole his unsecured compressor from a trailer at his residence. There are no suspects at this time.

 

Around 6:20 Wednesday evening (August 10), officers took a report of a possible missing person. A woman stated that she woke her 16-year old daughter that morning to go to community service at the Open Door. Later in the morning, the woman was notified that the 16-year old never showed up at Open Door. The girl was entered as a missing person. There were no further details listed in that report.
