Early Thursday morning, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a registration violation. Upon identifying the driver to Dispatch, it was discovered the driver had an active Pettis County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Failing to Register a Motor Vehicle and Failing to Wear A Seat Belt. Kenton David Johnson, 61, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. At the jail, Johnson was given a bond of $139.00 cash only with a court date pending.


 

Sedalia Police observed a vehicle travelling westbound on West Broadway Boulevard with expired temporary registration tags Thursday morning. A traffic stop was conducted, and during the course of the investigation it was discovered the passenger had a Failure to Appear warrant from Pettis County on original charges of Speeding. The warrant was confirmed. Richard Lee Gilmore, 37, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Gilmore was given a cash only bond of $174.00.


 

Wednesday night, Officers stopped a tan Chevrolet truck because the license plate lights were not working. During the stop, the driver was found to be in possession of marijuana, less than five grams, and drug paraphernalia. The illegal items were seized and no charges are being pursued at this time.
