Sedalia Police Reports For March 11, 2022

Thursday morning, Officers conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Limit Avenue. A consent search of the vehicle resulted in the driver arrested for Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering With Evidence, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Teresa L. Deans, 57, of Warsaw, was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold.

Sedalia Police conducted a vehicle check near West 20th Street and South Ohio Avenue Thursday evening. The driver had an active felony warrant out of Pettis County for Failure to Appear on original charges of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and Driving While Revoked. James Wesley Cramer, 34, of Warsaw, was arrested with a cash or surety bond of $7,500.

On the evening of February 23rd, Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of South Engineer Avenue in reference to a theft that took place earlier that day at the Smith Cotton High School, 2010 Tiger Pride Boulevard. Officers spoke to the victim, who is a student at the High School. She reported that at some point during the school day, her Apple headphones, valued at $200, were stolen from her backpack. Through investigation, Officers were able to recover the headphones. The headphones were in the possession of another juvenile High School student. A Juvenile Referral for theft is being forwarded to the Juvenile Office.

Sedalia Police responded to the Bothwell ER on the evening of March 10th for a report of an animal bite. When Officers arrived, they made contact with Alan Henry Weston, who stated that when he was outside in the 1200 block of South Sneed Avenue, a dog came up to him and bit him twice. Information was collected and a report was made.

Officers responded to the 400 block of South Ohio Avenue Thursday evening for a report of a hit and run accident. A witness stated that a black GMC truck was south bound on South Ohio Avenue, crossed the center of the roadway, and struck a parked car prior to leaving the scene. The victim's vehicle sustained moderate damage.

Thursday evening, Officers responded to the area of West Main Street and South Osage Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle crash. When Officers arrived, the suspect vehicle had left the scene. Information was collected from a witness, and a report was made.

Officers took a report of sexual assault Thursday evening that took place in the 900 block of North Engineer Avenue. The suspect is known at the time of the report.

Early Monday morning, a car was stopped in the area of South Kentucky Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard for defective equipment. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Shea Tyler Archibeque, 29, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest, taken to the hospital, and then to the Pettis County Jail. Archibeque was booked in on a state charge of Driving While Intoxicated.

Thursday night, Officers were dispatched to the Motel 6, 3402 West Broadway Boulevard, in reference to what was later determined to be a trespass complaint. Officers spoke with several subjects. Investigation revealed that one subject was in possession of methamphetamine. Christopher W. Mathis, 44, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold.

Wednesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Pettis County Probation and Parole Office, 205 Thompson Road, for a report of a subject there with a felony warrant. Officers arrived, made contact with the Probation Officer, and the suspect. Officers confirmed the warrant and took the suspect into custody. Ian M. Pennington, 23, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail for his Parole Violation warrant on original charges of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance pending a $10,000 cash or surety bond.

Thursday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Phillips 66, 216 West Broadway Boulevard for a report of a two vehicle accident with no reported injuries. When Officers arrived, they made contact with the two drivers. Both drivers' information was check with Dispatch. One driver had a suspended license. Don C. Soriano-Palmerin Jr., 22, of Sedalia, was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Soriano-Palmerin was booked for Driving While Suspended and released of his own recognizance.

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near South New York Avenue and East 13th Street Wednesday afternoon. It was discovered that a passenger in the vehicle had a warrant out of Sedalia for Failure to Appear on original charges of Trespassing with a bond of $300 cash only. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a felony amount of marijuana. Nichole S. Bierschbach, 39, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail. Bierschbach was booked on her warrant and a charge of Possession of Marijuana and later released.

Thursday morning, Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Station for a report of theft. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Jason C. Davis. Davis stated that between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, someone entered his vehicle while it was parked at the Murphy USA, 3203 West Broadway Boulevard and stole $295 worth of items inside. There are no suspects at this time.

Sedalia Police took a report in the lobby of the Police Department Thursday afternoon in reference to a possible scam call. The person the caller spoke to obtained a large amount of personal information from the caller. At the time of the report, the caller was not missing any money. A report was completed for documentation purposes only at this time.

Thursday morning, Officers observed a black passenger car that had slid into the ditch on Clinton Road near Katy Park. Officers made contact with the driver, Jade M. Diaz, 18, of Sedalia. A computer check through Dispatch confirmed she had no driver's status. A small child was also in the vehicle and was unrestrained. No car seat was observed in the vehicle. Diaz was arrested and transported to the SPD, while the child was released to family. Diaz was issued citations for No Operator's License and Failing to Secure a Child Less than 8 Years Old in a Child Restraint or Booster Seat.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Jiffy Stop, 1722 West Broadway Boulevard, Thursday morning for a report of a theft that occurred Tuesday afternoon. When Officers arrived, they spoke with an employee, who stated a woman came into the store and stole $99.95 worth of alcohol. Officers recognized the suspect on the surveillance video and knew she drove the vehicle the employee described. Officers got a copy of the video for evidence and then went to the 100 block of East Johnson Street to make contact with Pia L. Montgomery, 54, of Sedalia. When Officers arrived, they made contact with Montgomery and took her into custody. Montgomery was placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges of Stealing (3rd or More Offense).

Thursday morning, Officers took a report of a theft form a vehicle. The theft had occurred near the 900 block of East Broadway Boulevard. The caller reported that a magnet that was attached to her vehicle was taken sometime during the night of March 7th. The value of the magnet was estimated at approximately $250. No suspects have been identified at this time.

Sedalia Police responded to the Probation and Parole Office, 205 Thompson Boulevard, for a warrant check Thursday morning. Officers met with Michael E. Barnett, 44, of Sedalia. Barnett was found to have an active Probation Violation warrant out of Pettis County. Barnett was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail with no bond.

Officers took a found property report at the lobby of the Police Station Wednesday morning. The reporting person found a cell phone and turned it in to Police. It was entered into evidence as found property.

Wednesday evening, a sex crime was reported to Sedalia Police. The crime occurred within the city limits of Sedalia seven to eight years ago involving a juvenile child.
