Thursday night, a suspect was being escorted into the Pettis County Jail Booking Room, after he had self-surrendered on a Failure to Appear warrant. The warrant was issued in November 2023 on an original charge of Trespassing. In the original incident the subject was trespassed from the Dugan Glass Company, 2810 West Main Street, Sedalia. However, when the suspect was searched at the jail, he had a small baggie of methamphetamine on his person. James David Kohrs, 43, of Sedalia, was arrested on felony charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Introduction of a Controlled Substance Into a Jail Facility, along with his FTA warrant. The FTA warrant carried a cash only bond of $60.00, while the drug charges haven’t bonded because Kohrs is currently on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.

Thursday night, a truck was stopped near West Broadway Boulevard and South Limit Avenue because it was failing to maintain its lane. After a check of the registration, it was discovered the registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended license and two Pettis County warrants. The driver of the truck gave a false name, and was under the influence of drugs. He was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he concealed a methamphetamine pipe into the jail. Ryan James Pennington, 31, of Sedalia, was booked in on charges of Driving While Suspended, Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs), Identity Theft, felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Introduction of a Controlled Substance into a Jail Facility, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, and the two Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle On the Highway Without a Valid License, Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, and Driving While Suspended. Pennington was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.


 

Thursday evening, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for disobeying a stop sign. After a computer check, it was determined the driver did not have a valid license, and had provided a false name. The subject was placed under arrest for driving without a valid license. After a consent search of the vehicle, a powdery substance was located and field tested positively for methamphetamine. A dollar bill in the suspect’s’ pocket also contained the same powdery substance, which also tested positively for methamphetamine. Liborio Ubaldo Herrera, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of felony Driving While Suspended as well as Possession of a Controlled Substance. Herrera was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a car in the area of East 3rd Street and South Washington Avenue after the driver was recognized as someone known to have a suspended driving privilege Thursday night. Tara Lynn Davis, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Suspended. Davis was booked and released at the Sedalia Police Department.


 

Officers took a report from Anton Hinrichs Thursday evening over the telephone. Hinrichs stated there were charges made on his credit card that were fraudulent. The charges were made without his knowledge and permission.


 

Thursday morning, Officers were dispatched to the intersection of East Saline Street and North Engineer Avenue for a report of a person being assaulted by a paintball gun. Officers arrived on scene, gathered information from the victim, and a report was completed.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 400 block of West 4th Street for a report of property damage. Officers arrived on scene, gathered information from the victim, and a report was completed.


 

Wednesday morning, Officers conducted a warrant check in the 700 block of East 5th Street. Officers identified the subject with a warrant for his arrest. Justice Kai Travis Workman, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested on his warrant on charges of Failure to Display License Plates.
