Wednesday evening, Officers responded to the 1100 block of East 15th Street for a report of a burglary. Blake Austin Staats reported that his home was entered while he was at work and some items were stolen.


 

Sedalia Police performed a traffic stop on a maroon Dodge minivan Wednesday night, as the vehicle did not have any license plates. The traffic stop took place in the area of East 5th Street and South Hancock Avenue. Officers spoke to the driver and two occupants. Investigation during the stop revealed a handgun, methamphetamine, and related drug paraphernalia. Victor Dwayne Grapes Jr., 50, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended and Unlawful Possession of a Concealable Weapon. Julia D. Pennington, 59, of Sedalia, was arrested for Unlawful Transfer of a Weapon, Distribution of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Eric S. Koons, 31, of Sedalia, was arrested on two Pettis County warrants for Violation of a Court Order of Protection with a combined bond of $3,000 cash or surety. Koons was also arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. All three were transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold. Their bonds and court dates are to be determined.


 

Early Thursday morning, Officers observed a subject sitting on the benches of Vermont Park, located at South Vermont Avenue and West 14th Street. Officers made contact with the subject, who identified himself as Christopher A. Judkins, 30, of Sedalia. The Officer was familiar with Judkins and knew he had a Pettis County warrant. Judkins was placed under arrest for a Failure to Appear warrant or original charges of Assault in the 4th Degree. Judkins was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked with a court date and a bond of $1,500 cash or surety.
