Wednesday night, Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident in the area of West 14th of South Ohio Avenue. Contact was made with the driver, who had struck a parked truck. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver was intoxicated. Chelsea Jean Stone, 31, of Sedalia, was arrested on a state charge of Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Sedalia Police Headquarters, then to a hospital, and then to the Pettis County Jail pending release to a sober person.


 

Thursday morning, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of West 10th and Thompson Boulevard. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Natasha R. Parkhurst, 21, of Sedalia. Parkhurst was arrested on a Pettis County warrant for Driving While Intoxicated by Drugs. Parkhurst was transported to the Pettis County Jail with a bond at $250.00.


 

On the afternoon of October 4th, Officers were dispatched to the Bast Storage Facility in the 200 block of West Jefferson in regard to a theft which had taken place within the past month. 675 items were stolen with an approximate combined value of $16,875.00. On August 26th, Sedalia Police received a Child Abuse and Neglect report from the Children's Division in reference to sexual abuse. The report alleged an adult male molested and sodomized a juvenile. On September 11th, the child was interviewed at Child Safe, where they disclosed the abuse at the hands of someone known to them. On October 6th, the suspect, Brandon T. Ball, 20, of Sedalia, was located and voluntarily came to the Police Station for an interview. Ball was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold pending the filing of state charges. Charges of Child Molestation in the 1st Degree and Statutory Sodomy in the 1st Degree are being sought.
