Sedalia Public Library,  311 W. 3rd, is celebrating National Library Week all month long.

Sedalia native and children’s author, Erica Montgomery, will visit and share her book The Craft Center, at the library this Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Queen City Room.

Children will learn about her book and make a craft together.  The event is open to all ages and free.  If readers want to get their own copy of the book, they can pick it up at Reader’s World and bring it in for Montgomery to sign.

In addition, to celebrate NPL week with their patrons, Sedalia Public Library is giving away a free Kindle to one lucky patron.

Patrons may enter the drawing each time they attend one of theirr events this month.  Each person that attends can put their name into the drawing.  The kindle is a great way to read and listen to books from the library's digital resources on their website www.sedalialibrary.com.

Patrons can get a bonus “entry” if they like the library on social media and come in to sign up for their email newsletter, said Library Director Jamie Sparks.

Events for April include:

*Guest author visit

*Paint & design class
*Declutter class
*Monday kid's night
*Adult book club
