Yesterday (June 5) at approximately 4:23 p.m., the Sedalia Police STING Unit was dispatched to the area of 1214 East 4th St. to assist Children Services with an investigation.  According to a report, there was a possible methamphetamine lab in the basement of the residence.

Upon arrival, police checked the residence and located chemical odors coming from the basement.  Nothing was located in the basement other than the odor.  However, the STING Unit located precursors and discarded items from a previous meth lab in a shed behind the residence.  An investigation of the items led to the arrest of the renter of the apartment, 21-year old Taylor Ashley Vaughan.

A small child was also located at the residence.  The child was removed from the residence by Children Service.  Vaughan was charged with possession of Ephedrine and first degree child endangerment.
