Sedalia Woman Injured in Benton County Rollover

A Sedalia woman suffered serious injuries in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Monday afternoon in Benton County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 22-year-old Kayla Fletcher of Sedalia was the driver of northbound 2006 Chevy Cobalt on Highway H, south of Coleman Road at 2:35 p.m., when she failed to negotiate a curve, and the vehicle began to skid. The Chevy ran off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned, coming to rest in a ditch.

Fletcher, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Cole Camp EMS. She died March 19.

The Cobalt had moderate damage.

Benton County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
