Sedalian Injured in Highway 50 Wreck on Christmas Eve

Two Pettis County residents were injured on Christmas Eve in a motor vehicle accident at Highway 50 and Route MM.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a westbound 2007 GMC Acadia driven by 18-year-old Brian Martinez of La Monte failed to yield to traffic at 1 p.m. Tuesday and struck a southbound 2004 Mercury driven by 25-year-old Garrett J. Young of Sedalia. Both vehicles ended up in the median.

Martinez refused treatment at the scene, while Young suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Centerpoint Hospital by PCAD.

Martinez was wearing a seat belt, while Young was not, the report stated.

Both vehicles were totaled.
