A volunteer firefighter from Thomasville was killed in a rollover accident involving a fire truck on Thursday in Oregon County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 1992 International Spartan Smeal brand pumper, driven by a 66-year-old woman from Birch Tree, Mo., was eastbound on US 160, four miles south of Thomasville and 20 miles east of West Plains, sometime after 5 p.m., when the truck traveled off the right side of the roadway.

The driver overcorrected, and the truck crossed the center of the road, began to skid and traveled off the left side, where it struck a ditch, and overturned.
