Here's a look at all the fun stuff that's happening in Sedalia and in our surrounding areas this weekend! 

The 23rd annual Hughesville/Northwest all class Reunion will be held October 6 at the Hughesville/Northwest High School. 

A social will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.  Tours of the school will be held and there will be time for visiting.  A buffet dinner and program will begin at 6:30 p.m.  Reservations and tickets will be required for the banquet and program.  All former graduates, faculty, administration, staff and friends are invited.  The deadline is September 29 to be listed in the program booklet.  For more information, call Ruth Ann Leicher at 660-826-6153 or Beatrice Curtiss at 660-827-3995.

The Leeton Community Betterment Committee  would like to invite everyone to attend  the Leeton Fall Festival, This Saturday,  October 6th from Noon to 4:00pm, held at the Leeton City Park.

There will be over 35 booths filled with arts and crafts, food, raffles and silent auction items. Throughout the day, there will be games for the kids at 12:30, live entertainment with Cowboy Bart’s imaginary Band featuring Red, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The Karaoke Contest starts at 2:00 pm for all ages. And then, our famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, followed by our Baked Goods Auction. Don’t miss the fun for all ages at this years Leeton Fall Festival, Oct. 6th at the Leeton City Park.

The Boys and Girls Club of West Central Missouri will have their Golf Tournament on Saturday, October 6th.

It’ll be held at the Triple Creek Golf Course in Cole Camp.  Entry Fee is $60 per person or $240 for a team of four.  That includes carts, prizes and lunch.  Cash prize for the top three places.  Check in begins at 9:30 a.m.  and lunch begins at 10:30 a.m.  The shotgun start begins at 11 a.m.  The tournament is open to all family, friends and supporters.  Mulligans are available at registration.  Various games and raffles will be available.  For more information, contact Melissa Boeschen at 826-8331.

Crashin' the Park will be held at Liberty Park on October 6  beginning at 4 p.m.

Four great contemporary Christian bands will perform, with one rapper.  There will be powerful personal testimonies, and plenty of free food and prizes.  Bring your lawn chairs.  In case of rain, the event will be held in the Convention Hall.  For more information, call 221-7574.

Christ and Trinity will have their Fall Rummage sale on Friday and Saturday.

They’ll begin on Friday October 5 from 7 a.m. to  5 p.m.   On Saturday, they’ll have a Soup and Sandwich Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the Sale goes that day from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The luncheon has a cost of $5 for an adult and $2.50 for kids ages 6-12.  They’ll have soup or chili, sandwich  dessert and a beverage.  They're located at 3201 Southwest Blvd, Sedalia.

The first ever Heart of America Sport Aviation Classic is a Tribute to the Red tails. 

Experimental, Light sport, and Ultralight planes are at the Premiere sport aviation event. It will be held on October 4-7 at the Skyhaven Airport of Warrensburg, on the University of Central Missouri Aviation Campus.  It will feature aircraft on display, historical aviation re-enactors, and 1940′s themed hangar dance.  The event is free to the public.  Call 816 282 8635 for more information.  You may also visit http://www.sportaviationclassic.com/ for updates on the schedule.

Plan to attend the LIFE CHAIN gathering for Life on Sunday, October 7, 2012, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 416 NW Highway 13, about three miles north of Warrensburg, just south of the OO/V intersection and the new “roundabout.”

Hosted by Catholic Campus Ministries and Johnson County Right to Life, the LIFE CHAIN will link prayerful gatherings in communities nationwide. Please make every effort to attend this family-friendly event with your family, including babies, and friends. We will gather in the Church’s parking lot to pray quietly for Life. Come pray with us for one hour and witness. For further information on the LIFE CHAIN please call 660-747-5772.  Following LIFE CHAIN we will hold the October meeting of Johnson County Right to Life inside the Church at 3:15 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting.

The public is invited to bring their ideas to an informational meeting Saturday, Oct. 6, at Knob Noster State Park near Knob Noster. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the park’s Clearfork Shelter.

Representatives from the park will discuss the continuing work being done on the McAdoo Equestrian Trail and provide information on the State Parks Youth Corps involvement with the park during 2012. Representatives from the facility will provide information on future plans for the facility and answer questions. Visitors are invited to share comments and suggestions about the facility.  Knob Noster State Park is located near Knob Noster, one mile south of Highway 50 on Highway 23. People requiring special services or accommodations to attend the meeting can make arrangements by calling the park at 660-563-2463.
