The State Fair Community College Cross Country teams continued their season of firsts at the Region 16 Division II Cross Country Championships at Mineral Area College in Park Hills on Friday, Oct. 29.

The Roadrunners placed second as team.

Freshman Ethan Montgomery led SFCC finishing third covering the 8K course in 28:35.6. The finish earned Montgomery All-Region Honors. Freshman Logan Shaw finished fourth in a time of 28:41.6.

Freshman Ty Lewis placed seventh with a time of 30:02.0. Freshman Nathan Gemechu placed eighth with a time of 30:49.4. Freshman Juan Herrera placed ninth with a time of 31:00.9.

Sophomore Zack Dyer rounded out the top 10 with a time of 31:06.0. Freshman Ryan Smith finished 11th with a time of 31:13.5.

“While our men finished second today, we feel as a team we finished amazing,” SFCC Cross Country Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. “We were the only school to place seven guys in the top 20 overall."

Freshman Korry Davis represented the Lady Roadrunners. Davis covered the 5K course in 24:33.5 and earned All-Region honors with a third-place finish in the women’s race.

The Lady Roadrunners and Roadrunners will now prepare to race in the National Championships in Richmond, Virginia on Saturday, Nov.13.
