State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners Basketball Head Coach Matt Brown has announced the first three additions to his 2021-2022 recruiting class.

Yame Butler, Cam Tweedy, and Will Wilson have signed their National Letters of Intent and will begin their academic and athletic careers at SFCC later this summer.

Butler is a 6’5’’ guard/forward who played at Division I Fordham University. He played his prep school basketball at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia, where he played for Head Coach Matt Donohue. Fork Union is the same school that produced former Roadrunners L.J. Bryan and LePear Toles. Butler played his high school basketball at Eleanor Roosevelt. He was named third team all-county in high school.

“Yame will be a player who can play multiple positions on the floor,” said Brown. “He has the ability to shoot and pass and will be a great asset to the program."

Tweedy is a 6’6’’ forward who played his high school basketball at Westlake High School in Bethesda, Maryland for Head Coach Ed Mouton. Tweedy averaged 19 points and 13 rebounds as a senior in high school. Tweedy played prep school basketball at Olympus Prep in New Jersey for Head Coach Tramar Beanman. Tweedy averaged 21 points, nine rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game in prep school.

“Cam is an extremely hard worker who has a strong desire to get better,” said Brown. “We welcome his athleticism and scoring ability to our program."

Wilson is a 6’5’’ guard/forward who played his prep school basketball at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia for Head Coach Tom Messinger, where he averaged seven points per contest and helped his team to a 25-2 record.

Wilson played his senior year of high school basketball at South County High School in Lorton, Virginia. Wilson was named the 6A Player of the Year in Virginia as a senior.
“Will is a player who is a year older,” said Brown. “He was a really good player in high school. He also played with a lot of good Division I players at Hargrave. We are extremely excited to have him.
