If you've got a kid who dreams of playing football for the Smith-Cotton Tigers in a few years, give 'em a head start by sending them to the 2022 Smith-Cotton Youth Football Camp this July.

The camp is designed for kids in Kindergarten through sixth grade and will be run by the Smith-Cotton football coaches, with varsity team members helping out. Camp will run from Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28 from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM Central Time.

So what skills will campers be working on? Proper tackling, offensive, and defensive individual position skills, special teams, group work, and more. Additionally, campers will participate in a punt, pass, and kick competition.

Cost is $40 dollars and campers will receive a T-shirt, which if they wear to home S-C Tiger Football games will allow them to run through the tunnel prior to the game. There's a sign-up sheet on the Smith-Cotton Tigers Football Facebook page with a QR code that will allow parents to sign their kids up easily.

If you have a young one that enjoys playing football, or a kid who you just want to be a little bit active over the summer, this could be an excellent fun way to get them some exercise. Plus, come on, running through the tunnel before Smith-Cotton High School Football games this fall, that sounds like fun too. If you have any questions about the camp you can reach out to coach Josh Gray at grayj@sedalia200.org

Pictures: Sedalia Police Place First in Cardboard Boat Race

Sedalia Police, Sedalia Fire, and Sedalia School 200 administrators battled each other in a cardboard boat race in Sedalia Middle School's pool. The Police Department finished first, The Fire Department Second, and Sedalia 200 school officials last. At the end of the event students in attendance were chanting for certain people to jump in the pool, including Principal Brett Hieronymus. Our Randy Kirby snapped some photos of the event.
