Seniors Cameron Finley, Camden Gear, Brett Grupe and Dylan Wissman received multiple honors during the Smith-Cotton High football program’s awards night presentation Tuesday, Dec. 10, in the Heckart Performing Arts Center.

Finley received the Ralph “Stub” Dow Award as the team’s best back and was selected by the coaches as the Offensive Player of the Year. Gear was the Defensive Player of the Year and an Academic All-State honoree.

Grupe earned the Mark Johnson Academic Achievement Scholarship and was the Special Teams Player of the Year. Wissman won the Charles Van Dyne Award as the team’s top lineman and is the first recipient of the Caleb Stathem Memorial Scholarship, awarded by the family of a former S-C football player who died from injuries in a car wreck.

The team had 35 players earn varsity letters and 21 achieve Tiger Scholars designation for having a grade-point average of at least 3.0.

StubDow: Senior running back Cameron Finley received the Ralph “Stub” Dow Award as the Smith-Cotton football team’s top back during the team’s awards ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 11, in the Heckart Performing Arts Center.
