Smith-Cotton Tigers Boys Basketball JV team lost to Hickman, 58-54, on Wednesday night.

Hickman held a 32-26 lead at the half.

S-C was led by Brett Grupe with 19 points. Tyler Williams had 17 points and Keith Hawkins added 15.

"It was a hard-fought game," said JV Coach Mike Franklin. "The boys played hard and had a chance to tie the game lat in the fourth quarter. A costly turnover stopped that from happening. I'm still very proud of our effort tonight."

And  the Smith-Cotton freshmen boys basketball won both games, A & B, Tuesday night against Camdenton.

B team won 34-23. Caleb Egbert led the B team with 9 points and 6 steals, Wesley Morrison had 8 points, and Tyler Tindell added 6 points as well.

The A team won 53-35. Malik Grant led the charge for the Tigers with 22 points, 14 rebounds, and two blocks. Isiah Gilmore had 9 points and 4 steals. Twin brother Cyrus Gilmore had 6 points to go with 6 steals. Adam Webb added 6 points and 4 assists.

Coach Jeremiah Baruxen said, “We played great team defense and we were able to capitalize on the other team’s mistakes.”
