Smith-Cotton JV Cross Country Girls Take First at Grain Valley
At Saturday’s Grain Valley cross country meet, the S-C varsity boys placed 3rd behind Grain Valley and Pleasant Hill.
Both Alex Beard medaled in 6th place with time of 17:47 followed by Irvin Zalpa in 12th (18:02).
The rest of the scoring varsity boys: Will Hooton 23rd (18:39), Isaac Marcos 25th (18:42), Ebay Carlos 30th (18:46) Carson Lewellyn 41st (19:15) and Joseph Rae 42nd (19:19).
“The competition was strong and the course is more challenging than some with more hills,” coach Tara Clark said. “Great efforts and very proud of the athletes."
The JV boys took first and brought home a plaque.
