Sacred Heart soccer celebrated senior night in style with a 3-0 win over a very solid, Class 2, Fatima squad.

Sophomore Ian Viscarra opened the scoring with a converted penalty kick in the ninth minute of the first half.

As the game progressed, a mixture of freezing rain and ice made field conditions very challenging for both teams.

A tactical switch by assistant coach Israel Baeza moved Lucas Martin to center midfield, which allowed Viscarra more offensive freedom in the second half. Eleven minutes into the half, Viscarra scored an incredible goal, unleashing a shot 25 yards out to beat the keeper. With that goal, Viscarra stands at 20 goals for the season.

Junior Lucas Martin completed the scoring for the Gremlins with an assist from Juan Fernandez. Junior Dallin Chappell was in the goal for the shutout. The Gremlin defense, anchored by Jude Rollings, Juan Pablo Suarex, John Ulbrich and Jude Jenkins has now allowed only 24 goals in 23 regular season games this season.

The Gremlins move to 15-8 on the season. Sacred Heart;s game with Knob Noster (8-13) was canceled on Wednesday due to wet field conditions. The game will not be rescheduled, according to Sacred Heart Athletic Director David Fall.

Fatima is now 12-9.

Sacred Heart plays number 3 seed Green Ridge (12-10) Nov. 7 in the Class 1, District 7 Tournament, starting at 6:30 at Clover Dell Park in Sedalia. The Gremlins are seeded in the number 2 spot.
