Nationally known motivational speaker and author Joshua Coburn will bring his message of positive thinking to Sedalia 200 students in presentations and personal discussions May 11 and 12 at Smith-Cotton Junior High and Smith-Cotton High School.

Coburn’s Manners & Motivation” speaking events connect well with students, inspiring them to “overcome obstacles, be comfortable in their own skin and pay kindness forward,” according to his website (joshuacoburn.com), which includes positive reviews from scores of students who have experienced his presentations.

Coburn helps them cultivate positive change in themselves and in their schools. Among his topics have been anxiety, suicide, peer pressure, divorce, self-harm, unity and goal-setting.

Coburn will address the junior high at 1 p.m. May 11, then be available to meet with students afterward until the school day is over. He will be at the high school at 9:30 a.m. May 12 and remain on campus through lunch periods to meet and greet.
