Steven Duane Gooch, 48, of Sedalia passed away Monday, March 9, 2015.  He was born on March 2, 1967 in Springfield, MO a son of L. Darl and Joyce (Ross) Gooch, who survives of Springfield, MO.

On August 10, 1991 in Sweet Springs, MO he was united in marriage to Terri Crowder, who survives of the home.

Steven earned his Bachelors Degree of Science and Education from Missouri State University, Springfield, MO.  He began teaching at Smith-Cotton High School in 1996, and taught Social Studies for eighteen years.  Steven had a passion for history. He loved to travel, visiting battlefields and many historical sites.  He enjoyed listening to the Statler Brothers and especially loved spending time with his family.

Besides his parents and his wife he is survived by three children, Sarah, Josh and Hannah Gooch all of the home; and one brother, Chris Gooch and his wife Amanda of Springfield, MO.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, March 13, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, Celebration Center.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, March 14, 2015 also at The Celebration Center. Mark Danner will officiate assisted by Steve Schilb and Robert Jones.

Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Don Beyer, John Avers, Joe Ross, Robert Ross, Dave Meadows and Robert Jones.

Memorial contributions are suggested to The Gooch Children's Education Fund, in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
