Sullivan Earns Third Team all-American Recognition
State Fair Community College women's basketball standout Kayla Sullivan of St. Louis has been named a NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Third Team All-American by the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Committee.
Sullivan played a key role in one of the most successful seasons in program history. SFCC finished 24-7, earned its fifth trip to the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship, and won the Region 16 Tournament title. She was previously named to the All-Region 16 First Team.
Sullivan appeared in 31 games and started 23 during her sophomore campaign, averaging 10.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.5 steals per game. She scored in double figures 15 times, including a season-high 25 points against Crowder College. She also posted six games with double-digit rebounds.
Sullivan shot 40.7% from the field, 32.7% from three-point range and 67.7% from the free-throw line.

“Kayla really worked hard throughout her freshman season and in the off season to get herself to where she is at now,” head coach Nicole Collier said. “When she came in as a sophomore, she understood the system. She was a team captain for us this season, who led by example. The versatility that she showed to be able to play inside and out was a big part of our success this season. She was the type of player that teams couldn’t stop; we depended on her and I think she knew that. She did a good job of carrying that pressure. Kayla is a special person both on and off the court and is a phenomenal representative of both State Fair and our women’s basketball program.”
