Batten down the hatches as we get closer to the end of the week as severe storm chances for parts of Missouri and Illinois just doubled according to national weather forecasters.
Well, this was quite unexpected. A night camera which was outside trying to capture the Northern Lights witnessed that and something else all together. It was a sudden burst of jellyfish sprites over Missouri.
If you've ever tried to take a picture of lightning, you know it's difficult and potentially dangerous. One Wisconsin guy did it the safe and successful way and captured an incredible lighting display as it happened over southern Wisconsin just a few days ago.
There are two things you need to know. First of all, this is not an April Fool's joke. Second, this is also not an official forecast - yet. But, there an experimental model from the forecasters does show a strong possibility that Missouri could see dangerous storm development on Monday, April 1.
