The Smith-Cotton Tigers Football Team Loses to Center High School
The Smith-Cotton Tigers football team ended their regular season, Friday night, which was also Senior Night, against the undefeated Center Yellowjackets.
The Yellowjackets came to Tiger Stadium with an abundance in scoring. Center got out to a 21-0 lead in the early part of the second quarter. By halftime, the score was 35-0, in favor of Center.
The Tigers got on the scoreboard with just over 5 minutes to go in the third quarter, with a touchdown run by Gauge Young, and later a 26-yard field goal, by Blake Grupe.
Center eventually won the game 49-17.
The Tigers had 157 total yards in the ballgame. Coming into Friday’s ballgame, the Tiger’s averaged 340 yards.
The Smith-Cotton Tigers go to 4-5 for the season. The Tigers will return home on Friday, October 21st, to kick-off district play. The pregame will be at 6:35, with the game starting at 7:00pm.
