Since the beginning of November, Sedalia Police Department Patrol Officers have taken numerous reports of car break-ins, which have primarily come from the east side of Sedalia.

On Nov. 9, surveillance video was acquired of a suspect looking into vehicles in the same area of town, and more reports were taken regarding items being stolen from vehicles.

On Nov. 10, at approximately 2:26 a.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of East 14th St. for a report of a subject looking into vehicles. Officers were able to locate numerous vehicles in the area that appeared to have been rummaged through and items taken. Contact was made with the vehicle owners and reports were taken.

As officers continued to canvass the area, a male subject was located walking, and was found carrying numerous random items that would commonly be left in a vehicle. It was determined the male subject had been going through unlocked vehicles in the area and stealing items. In addition to items believed to be stolen from vehicles, the male suspect was found in possession of methamphetamine. The male suspect was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.

A detailed interview of the suspect furthered the investigation and led investigators to obtaining a search warrant for his residence, at 413 East 27th Street.

At approximately 4:40 p.m., detectives with the Crime Resolution Unit and Criminal Investigations Bureau responded to the residence to serve the search warrant. At the residence, contact was made with three male subjects and one female subject, who were all taken into custody without incident.

A detailed search of the residence revealed methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia items and additional evidence to indicate methamphetamine and marijuana were being distributed from the home, located within 2,000 feet of Sedalia Middle School.

At the conclusion of the investigation a male and female subject were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.
