Traffic Stop Results in Drug Arrest in Moniteau County

Moniteau County deputies recently arrested one man on drug charges after a traffic stop.

The Moniteau County Sheriff's Department says on September 7, conducted a vehicle stop on Highway CC near Waking Acres Road. The vehicle was reportedly bearing out-of-state plates and was stopped for multiple moving violations.

The driver was identified as 43-year old Albert J. Bourgeois, who did not have a valid license.

Further investigation revealed Bourgeois was on probation for theft of a motor vehicle and had a warrant for Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle from the state of Florida.

Deputies reportedly obtained consent to search the vehicle, and located methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia.

Bourgeois was arrested and taken to the Moniteau County Jail.
