Captain Steven V. Wilhoit, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, has announced the following promotion effective Jan. 1, 2024.

Trooper Corey D. Parrott has been promoted to the rank of corporal and designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 13, serving the citizens of Pettis County. Parrott was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on July 5, 2016, as a member of the 103rd Recruit Class.

After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop A, Zone 12, Johnson County. On May 1, 2019, Parrott transferred to Zone 13, serving the citizens of Pettis County, where he remained until his promotion.

Corporal Parrott was born in Columbia, Missouri. He graduated from Smith-Cotton High School, in Sedalia, Missouri, in 2007. Before joining the Patrol, he served in the United State Army from 2007 to 2015 before being honorably discharged. Corporal Parrott is currently a member of the Troop A Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT). Corporal Parrott is married to Tabitha (Hill) and they have two sons.
