Two residents of Kaiser, MO were recently arrested in Moniteau County on drug charges.

The Moniteau County Sheriff's Department says on July 5, deputies observed a vehicle parked in the MoDOT gravel area on Highway 87.

As authorities approached, the vehicle began to leave the area. Deputies then stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as 52-year old David D. McDaniel, who reportedly did not have a valid license, along with a passenger, 52-year old Lesia A. McDaniel, both of Kaiser, MO.

Consent to search the vehicle was reportedly granted, and David McDaniel told deputies there was a methamphetamine pipe under the seat.

Authorities recovered the meth pipe, along with more methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.

The McDaniels' were arrested and taken to the Moniteau County Jail. Upon arrival at the jail, staff searched Lesia McDaniel and reportedly discovered methamphetamine on her person, which she attempted to conceal.

Both were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (meth) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. They were then released ROR.
