On Monday, Aug. 31 at 11:14 p.m., Pettis County deputies, with the assistance of the Benton County Sheriff's Office, Lincoln Police, Henry County Sheriff's deputies and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, responded to the 21800 block of Ionia Road in Pettis County on a burglary in progress with a firearm being displayed.

While law enforcement was responding, shots were fired. Prior to officers' arrival, suspects left the scene.

During an investigation, the vehicle the suspects left the scene in, was determined to be stolen, but the owner of the vehicle was unaware that it had been stolen at the time.

A short time later, Benton County deputies responded to a call of suspicious activity in Lincoln. During that investigation, they recovered the stolen vehicle and also located two suspects in possession of it. The report did not say what type of vehicle.
Pettis County deputies responded to the area and arrested Michelle Renee Bailey and Jeremy Henderon (ages not given).

And on Tuesday, Sept. 1, the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office filed charges of 1st degree Tampering With a Motor Vehicle and violation of an order of protection, with bond set at $7,500.

The investigation continues. Anyone with information in the case should contact the Pettis County Sheriff's Office at 827-0052 or the TIPS Hotline at 827-TIPS, or 8477.
