Two cousins have been charged with fatally shooting a man during a burglary at a suburban Kansas City apartment.

Seventeen-year-old Malik Duren, of Kansas City, and 18-year-old Mahki Hall, of Grain Valley, were charged Thursday with second-degree murder and five other felonies.

Court documents say 46-year-old Luis Cedres was killed and Duren was wounded early Wednesday in Blue Springs. Officer pursued a car seen speeding away from the area. When it stopped in a ditch, Duren was found inside and rushed to a hospital. The documents say Duren had Cedres' wallet.

Hall and another suspect are accused of fleeing into nearby woods. Hall later was arrested in Grain Valley.

Bond is set at $250,000 for Duren and $150,000 for Hall. No attorneys are listed for them in online court records.
