Two people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck that occurred Friday afternoon in Johnson County.

According to the MSHP, two vehicles were eastbound on US 50 when a 1999 Chevy Suburban, driven by 47-year-old Robert C. Martin of Holden, slowed down at 5:02 p.m. to make a left-hand turn into a crossover at at NW 1251 (east of Pittsville), when it was struck from behind by an eastbound 2014 Ford F-150, driven by 59-year-old Mark A. Thatcher of Lee's Summit.

Thatcher had minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene, according to the Patrol. Martin suffered moderate injuries and was transported by JCAD to Western Missouri Medical Center.

Both drivers were wearing a safety device, the report stated.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene.
