Two men drowned late Thursday night in Wright County when a vehicle they were in entered flood waters.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a vehicle entered water that was over the roadway at Highway M, one mile southwest of Grovespring at Parks Creek around 11:45 p.m., and was swept downstream by the fast-moving current.

Four occupants were located and removed from the water without injuries.

First responders located the other two occupants of the vehicle deceased.

19-year-old Alexander G. Roman-Ranelli of Springfield, and 20-year-old Devin Holt of Grovespring, were pronounced dead by Wright County Coroner Ben Hurtt.

The eight Troopers on scene were assisted by Conservation Agents Justin Emery and Mark Henry, Wright County Sheriff's Deputies, Wright County First Responders, the Grovespring Fire Department and the Region G All-Hazards team.
