Versailles Man Killed in Weekend Wreck
A 26-year old Versailles man was killed over the weekend in a one-vehicle crash that occurred in Morgan County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the wreck at approximately 5:45 Saturday evening on Ritchie Road just east of Route T.
According to the online crash report, a 1996 Chevrolet 2500 lost traction while attempting to negotiate a curve. The Chevy over-corrected then traveled off the road, striking a fence and a tree.
A passenger in the vehicle, James R. Dinkins, was taken to University Hospital, by Staff for Life, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Chevy, 24-year old Donald R. Kemper, of Jefferson City, suffered minor injuries but reportedly declined medical treatment.
