Violet Thelma Paralee Vinson, 98, of Sedalia, died Sunday, December 22, 2013, at her home.

She was born March 27, 1915, in Sedalia, daughter of Henry Thomas and Olive Mae Wilson Collins. In 1932, in Sedalia, she married William Henry Vinson, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1981.

Violet was a member of the Church of God and loved going to church. She had worked for Bothwell Hospital and B&B Cleaners. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, singing and making handmade rugs.

Surviving are six children: William Henry Vinson, Jr., of Sedalia, James Alan Vinson, of Sedalia, Nancy Jane Crocker, of Greer, S.C., Dale Elvin Vinson, of Sedalia, Dianna LaVonne Clifford, of Green Ridge, and Randy Mark Vinson, of Sedalia; 19 grandchildren; and many great and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dolores Bozarth; two granddaughters, April and Angie; two brothers; and a sister.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sid Mabry officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Friday at Heckart Funeral Home.
