Warrensburg Police Reports for July 22, 2024

This article is compiled from the Warrensburg Police Department crime reports.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: The Warrensburg Police Department issues their reports to the press once weekly. These reports are for every incident submitted from June 24h through June 30th, 2024. The reports were submitted to KSIS on July 19th, 2024.

On 06/24/2024 at 0132 hours, I was dispatched to 312 Franklin St. #E in reference to a harassment call. David Winters reported that a known male subject made threats to him involving a knife and also assaulted him. Cole Allen Stewart, 34, of Warrensburg, was arrested for domestic assault and was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released.

On 6/24/2024 at 1014 hours, Bobby Casey reported that his E-bike was stolen from the 700 block of S Holden St. sometime after 0000 hours on 6/24/2024. He reported that his bike was locked to the banister near a stairwell with another bike. The Investigation is ongoing.

On 6/24/24 at approximately 1006 hours, I was dispatched to 208 Emerson St. for a wanted person. A known female subject with a Benton County warrant left Standing in the Gap Ministries. Kalyn Marie Daniels, 41, of Warrensburg, was located, arrested and transported to the Johnson County Jail for her warrant on original charges of Violation of an Order of Protection. Bond was set at $10,000 surety only.

On 06/24/2024 at approximately 2033 hours, I was dispatched to 615 W Clark Street in regards to a physical fight between two male subjects. Both male subjects were arrested for Public Affray and given citations. Casey Allen Batt, 24, of Warrensburg, and Tyler Julian Minard, 18, of Warrensburg, were released on scene.

On 6/25/2024 at approximately 1026 hours, I was dispatched to Lowe's at 912 N Collage St. for a past occurred theft. I made contact with Paul Tran with Earth Savers Inc. who advised that a contractor that his company hired had stolen several thousands of dollars worth of equipment and appliances, made unauthorized purchases through the businesses line of credit, and fraudulently cashed checks that were intended for other contractors. Investigation ongoing.

On 6/25/2024 at approximately 1300 hours, I was dispatched to the 400 block of Franklin St. for a violation of an order of protection. Amber Rogers reported that a known male subject violated an order of protection multiple times from 3/19/2023 to 3/19/2024. Investigation ongoing.

On 6/25/2024 at 0657 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of N Maguire for domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, I spoke with Miranda Callier who stated that a known male subject attempted to take her to a location unknown to her and bit her left ear. The male subject was found to have an out of state warrant and was placed under arrest for the warrant. While arresting the male subject for the warrant, he head butted a patrol car causing damages. Robert John Mixon, 36, of Warrensburg, was placed in the Johnson County Jail for the warrant. Charges have been filed for the property damaged. The incident will be sent to the prosecutor for review regarding the domestic assault.

On 06/25/24 at 1343 hours, a known male subject was arrested for his outstanding warrant for felony Stealing at the Municipal Court, 200 S Holden St. Travis Austin Heffington, 29, of Warrensburg, was transported to the Johnson County Jail.

On 6/25/2024 at approximately 1514 hours, Officers were dispatched to 1034 S Maguire St. Suite C, Discount Smokes and Liquor, for a robbery in progress. Brady Goodrich, the store manager, reported that two female employees notified him of a robbery in progress with shots fired. Officers found there was no robbery or emergency. The two females were later cited for false police report. The names of the employees were not listed.

On 6/25/2024 at approximately 1616 hours, I was dispatched to the 300 block of Franklin St. for a violation of an ex parte. David Winters reported that he had an ex parte against a known male subject and that he was on the property. Cole Allen Stewart, 34, of Warrensburg, was located and arrested. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released for violating an ex parte.

On 6/25/2024 at approximately 1712 hours, I was dispatched to a disturbance in the 1400 block of Grandview Dr. I made contact with Jill Hoskins who stated that a known male subject assaulted her. The male subject denied assaulting Hoskins. I was also made aware that the male subject was contacting juvenile and speaking with them over the phone. This incident was sent to the prosecutor for review.

On 6/25/2024 at 1715 hours, Lane Freed reported that he had been assaulted by a known male subject in the 400 block of W Culton St. Freed stated that the known male subject approached him yelling obscenities at him, then pushed him in the chest. Joseph John Thibeault, 31, of Warrensburg was later arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked, and released for assault.

On 6/26/24 at 0927 hours, Officers responded to a trespassing call in the 400 Block of North Charles Street. A male subject was later arrested for trespassing and stealing. Derrick W. Roar, 43, of Warrensburg, was placed in the Johnson County Jail on a 24-hour hold.

On 6/26/2024 at approximately 1048 hours, I was dispatched to Walmart at 301 E Cooper Blvd. regarding a just occurred shoplifting. Asset Protection advised that they attempted to detain a female subject, wearing all black clothing and a head scarf after she had placed multiple items into a purse. However, she left the store on foot through the garden center exit north bound. The suspect was located at T&T Nails and was arrested. Mikkia S. Reed, 45, of Warrensburg, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked, and released.

On 06/26/2024 at 2234 hours, Officers conducted a foot patrol through a wooded area in the 800 block of Hawthorne Blvd. A male and female subject were arrested for trespassing on city property. Stacey Ann Walton, 56, and Shawn Dale Stevenson, 53, both of Warrensburg, were transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed, issued a citation for trespassing and released.

On 6/26/2024 at 2343 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Franklin St. in reference to a known male subject violating an order of protection. Cole Allen Stewart, 34, of Warrensburg, was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released.

On 06/27/24 at 0838 hours, I conducted a traffic stop on a silver Honda Civic at NE 50 Hwy. The driver of the vehicle had a suspended or revoked driving status. Kevin Mwenjwa Kamua, 34, of Warrensburg, was arrested for driving while revoked and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.

On 6/27/24 at 1157 hours, Officers responded to the 600 block of Burkarth Road for a report of child abuse. Two children were taken into protective custody and one was transported to the hospital for injuries. A male and female subject were arrested. Ashley Marie Wallender, 39, and Patrick Eugene Bell, 24, no address given, were transported to the Johnson County Jail.

On 06/28/2024 at approximately 0841 hours, Federal P&P Agents conducted a home visit of a person on parole for narcotics at 817 E. Gay St. items were discovered on consent. A search warrant was applied for and obtained for those items. Robert Lee Gardner, 52, and Jason Michael Wilson Sr., 44, both of Warrensburg, were later arrested for the violations and transported to the Johnson County Jail.

On 06/28/2024 at approximately 1240 hours, Lisa Newhouse was walking her dog on Roanoke Dr. A male subject allowed his dog to run at large causing an altercation between the animals causing the male's dog to bite Lisa'a dog. The male subject was cited on scene for dog at large.

On 6/28/2024 at 1223 hours, I received a call from a known male subject who stated that he had stolen a debit card from a car in Holden, MO. The male subject stated that he charged about $500.00 to the card  and then attempted to use the card a Dairy Queen at which time it was declined. I contacted Holden Police Department who will be conducting a follow-up with the male.

On 6/28/2024 at approximately 1629 hours, I was dispatched to Walmart at 301 E Cooper Blvd. Ryan Jones with Walmart Asset Protection reported that they have a female subject detained for stealing $55.11 worth of merchandise. Sandra Flores Bland, 70, of Warrensburg, was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released for stealing.

On 6/28/2024 at approximately 1617 hours, I was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash in the area of N Maguire St. and E Russell Ave. One of the drivers had an active warrant out of MSHP. The warrant was confirmed, and the suspect was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department. Michael Gabriel Hill, 32, of Warrensburg, was processed and released on bond for the warrant on original charges of Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle. He was also cited for following too close and no insurance regarding the MVC.

On 6/28/2024 at approximately 2043 hours, Officers were dispatched to 117 W Pine Street in reference to a disturbance. A male subject was arrested for possessing an open container of an intoxicating beverage in public. BR Francis, 38, of Warrensburg, was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center and release to medical staff.

On 06/29/2024 at 0312 hours, Johnson County Sheriff's Office requested a Drug Recognition Expert to 403 Burkarth Road for a suspected drug impaired arrestee.

On 6/30/2024 at 0717 hours, I was dispatched to the 300 block of E Young St. in reference to a fraud report. The General Manager of McDonald's reported that her overnight manager fell victim to a phone scam. It was reported that the overnight manager took $1023.00 in bills and converted it to bit-coin to pay for the confirmation of an appointment by OSHA and the Fire Marshall. This incident is under investigation.

On 6/29/2024 at approximately 1220 hours, I was advised that there was a male subject with a possible warrant at 432 N Holden St, Trails Regional Library. The warrant was confirmed on an original charge of felony Property Damage in the 1st Degree, and Austin Joseph Butner, 25, of Warrensburg, was arrested, then placed in the Johnson County Jail in lieu of bond. Bond was later set at $5,000 cash only.

On 6/29/2024 at approximately 1515 hours, I was dispatched to 144 E Pine St. in reference to a warrant. JCSO called stating that a male subject had a warrant issued today on felony charges of Delivery of a Controlled Substance into a Jail Facility. I contacted David Alan Barela, 38, of Warrensburg. The warrant was confirmed, he was arrested and placed in the Johnson County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.

On 6/29/2024 at approximately 1621 hours, I was dispatched to Dollar Tree at 727 N Charles St. Suite B for a leaving the scene accident report. Yvonne Kessler reported that her Buick Encore was struck in the parking lot. Officers located the suspect vehicle. The female passenger was arrested for a Warrensburg warrant. Anita Dawn Church, 55, of Warrensburg, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked, and released on bond.

On 6/29/24 at approximately 2209 hours, I conducted a traffic stop at 306 Broad Street on a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder for driving without lights at night. The driver was cited for no lights and arrested for driving without a valid license. Inar Roke, 23, of Warrensburg, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.

On 06/30/2024 at 0053 hours, Officers responded to the 800 block of Hickory St. for a domestic disturbance. A female subject was arrested for domestic assault and minor in possession of alcohol by consumption. Malea Dianne Cornelius, 19, of Warrensburg, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.

6/30/2024 at 0114 hours, Officers assisted UCM Department of Public Safety with a vehicle pursuit that ended at 1001 W Gay Street.

6/30/24 at approximately 0111 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Jefferson Street in reference to a suicidal subject. Contact was made with the male subject at Break Time on 701 S Maguire Street. The male subject was transported to WMMC for further treatment.

On 6/30/2024 at 0156 hours, Shelby Koch reported a male subject fired gunshots in the 100 Block of W Pine Street. Officers determined a public affray occurred between multiple males near 145 W Pine Street. Officers did not find evidence of weapons being used.

On 6/30/2024 at approximately 0658 hours, I was dispatched to a call involving a deceased female subject in the 900 block of S Mitchell St. There were no signs of a suspicious death. She was released to the Coroner's Office.

On 06/30/2024 at approximately 1216 hours, Officers contacted a known male subject near 817 E Gay St. in an attempt to arrest him for a prior case. Officers located multiple paraphernalia items and a container containing a white crystal like substance. The male subject was arrested for the drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. Jason Michael Wilson, 44, of Warrensburg, was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released.

On 6/30/2024 at 1034 hours, Shelbie Staffard with Walmart Asset Protection (301 E Cooper BLVD) reported that an unknown male subject stole approximately $64.46 worth of merchandise from the store on 6/28/2024 at approximately 1028 hours. This incident is under investigation.

On 6/30/2024 at approximately 1614 hours, I was dispatched to the 200 block of Ming for an assault. Amy Johnson reported that a juvenile was assaulted by a known male subject. This incident was sent to the prosecutor for review. The prosecutor had decided to filed charges of assault against the male.

On 6/30/2024 at approximately 1742 hours, I was dispatched to Casey's at 303 N Maguire St. for a theft report. Serenity Lambert, a store manager, reported that a known male subject stole alcohol and left on foot. Officers located the male subject. Matthew Michael Barrett, 43, of Warrensburg, was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released with a signed summons for stealing.

On 06/30/2024 at 1910 hours, Officers responded to the 200 Block of Ming St. in reference of possible child endangerment. Investigation ongoing.

6/30/2024 at 0221 hours, I found a cell phone on the sidewalk at 112 W Pine Street. The phone was placed into evidence for safekeeping.

On 6/30/2024 at 1034 hours, Walmart Asset Protection, Shelbie Stafford, provided me with a theft report. Shelbie stated that a known female subject skipped scanned multiple items, stealing $41.65 worth of merchandise. The incident occurred on 6/6/2024 at approximately 1501 hours. Investigation ongoing.
