
Warrensburg Police Reports for October 7, 2024
AUTHOR'S NOTE: The Warrensburg Police Department issues their reports to the press once weekly. These reports are for every incident submitted from September 9th through September 15th, 2024. The reports were submitted to KSIS on October 4th, 2024.
On 09/09/24 at 0923 hours, Ethan Ferrell reported a theft in the 400 block of Jackson Street. Ferrell stated that a known male subject stole two of his scaffolding stands on 09/08/24 at 0143 hours. Investigation ongoing.
On 09/09/24 at approximately 1300 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a Grey Mitsubishi Outlander at the intersection of South Mitchell and East Culton Street.
David John Norush, 28, was arrested for Driving While Revoked and an active warrant
through Henry County on original charges of Driving While Revoked and Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Norush was placed into the Johnson County Jail in lieu of $500 cash or surety bond.
On 9/9/24 at 1640 hours, Officers took a report of a dog bite that occurred on 9/9/2024 around 1130 hours in the 400 Block of North College Street.
On 09/10/2024, at approximately 1623 hours, Officers stopped a silver Ford F-150 truck for the known female driver having a warrant. K-9 sniff was performed on vehicle and alerted. Narcotics paraphernalia was located. Ashley Marie Hunzinger, 39, was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and then transported to Johnson County Jail.
On 9/9/24 at approximately 2200 hours, Officers were dispatched to a gas station at 303 North Maguire Street for a report of a theft. Shawn Cunningham, 50, was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.
On 9/10/2024 at 0518 hours, Officers were flagged down by a male subject who stated that his company truck was stolen. The vehicle was located near 13 bypass and SE 200 Road with multiple tools taken from the vehicle. Investigation continues.
On 09/10/24 at 0851 hours, A female subject reported a theft at 603 West Gay Street. She stated her license plate was stolen off of her vehicle. No suspects at this time. Investigation ongoing.
On 09/09/2024, I was made aware of an assault that occurred at the Warrensburg High School (1411 S Ridgeview Dr.) on 09/06/2024 between 2117 and 2120 hours. A juvenile assaulted another juvenile at the high school football game. This report will be forwarded to the juvenile office.
On 9/11/2024 0855 hours, Anna Bodenhamer reported that sometime between 2200 hours to 0800 hours, an unknown subject stole her vehicle from the 400 block of West South Street. This incident is under investigation.
On 09/11/2024 at approximately 0908 hours, Officers contacted Jayden Romer at the Warrensburg Police Department. Romer reported that between 09/10 at 2000 hours and 09/11 at 0900 hours, an unknown subject stole a plastic tote containing multiple outdoor items from his back porch at 205 Ming Street. Investigation is ongoing.
On 9/11/2024 at 0918 hours, Kenneth Smidt reported that a male subject was suicidal in the 200 block of E Gay St. Officers made contact with the male subject, he went voluntary to the Crisis Access Point in Raymore, MO.
On 09/11/2024 at approximately 1036 hours, Matthew Waters reported that between 09/10 at 1700 hours and 09/11 at 0800 hours, an unknown subject gained access to his unlocked vehicle at 200 Grover Street. Waters reported the that the unknown subject stole a backpack containing a laptop, school books, Airpods and a binder of Pokémon cards. The investigation is ongoing.

On 09/11/2024 at approximately 1050 hours, Officers responded to the First Christian Church at 101 E Gay Street, in regards to an assault. Jason Russell reported that a known male subject assaulted a known female subject causing injury. Dillion Quade Campbell, 30, was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released for Domestic Assault.
On 9/11/2024 at approximately 1406 hours, Officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress at 219 Ming St. Officers saw no sign of forced entry or anyone in the area. Roseanne Dodgen reported that a green John Deere metal wagon was stolen sometime between 9/10/2024 at around 2100 hours and 9/11/2024 around 0700 hours. The cost to replace the wagon was approximately $90. Investigation ongoing.
On 9/11/2024 at 1443 hours, a thrift shop at 138 West Pine Street reported a theft that happened there on 9/7/24 at 1610 hours. A juvenile subject stole a BB gun from the store. The juvenile subject was soon identified and contact was made with them. The stolen BB gun was recovered and returned to the store. This incident is being sent
to the Johnson County Juvenile Office.
On 9/11/2024 at approximately 1429 hours, I attempted contact with a known
male subject at 403 Anderson St. in reference to a warrant. Contact was made with the male subject, the warrant was confirmed from Jackson County on original charges of Making a False Report, Displaying the License Plates of Another Person, Operating a Motor Vehicle With out Maintaining Financial Responsibility, and Driving While Revoked. Charles Lamont Williams, 43, was arrested, and placed in the Johnson County Jail in lieu of bond.
On 9/11/2024 at 1652 hours, a thrift consignment store at 138 West Pine Street reported that an unknown male subject conducted a ticket switch, stealing a
vacuum on 9/10/2024 at 1852 hours. The male subject was later identified. It was decided that charges would not be filed if the male subject agreed to pay the remain cost of the item, which he agreed to do. The male subject was trespassed from the store, but not was named in the report.
On 9/11/2024 at approximately 1714hrs, Officers attempted contact with a known
female subject in the 800 block of South Maguire Street in reference to multiple warrants. One was issued from Raymore PD on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle With out a Valid License, and another from Belton PD on original charges of Stealing. Gabrielle Nicole Sims, 22, was arrested and placed in the Johnson County Jail in lieu of bond.
On 09/11/2024 at 2234 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a gray Jeep Cherokee in the 700 Block of East Young Street. Eva Kay Fugate, 58, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Driving without a Valid License, and issued multiple other citations*. She was transported the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.
On 9/12/2024 at approximately 1107 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Burkarth Road in reference to a disturbance. A male subject was said to be verbally
combative, walking in and out of the business, and wearing scrubs with no shoes. Officers contacted the male subject who appeared to be having a manic episode. The male subjects case worker transported him to CAP.
On 9/12/2024 at 1052 hours, Officers received information of a wanted subject at 405 East Culton Street. Officers contacted the individual and confirmed they had an active warrant out of Blue Springs Police Department on original charges of Stealing and Trespassing in the 1st Degree. Linda Sue Huggins, 58, was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police department, processed, posted bond and was released.
On Thursday 9/12/2024 at 0822 hours, Officers spoke with Charlene Atkins in the 400 block of West Market Street about a fraud report. Atkins reported that on 9/10/2024 an unknown subject used her bank account to rent a house in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Investigation ongoing.
On 9/12/2024 at approximately 1703 hours, Officers were dispatched to a retail store at
301 East Cooper Boulevard. Kathryn Flowers reported her purse had been stolen around 1647 hours after she left it in her shopping cart by accident. A female
suspect was later located and arrested for Stealing and Fraudulent Use Of a Credit Device. She was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released. The suspect was not named in the report.
On 9/12/2024, at 1828 hours, a juvenile reported that her ID was lost at 711 South Maguire and stated that they observed a Facebook post about someone finding her ID. They contacted the person who made the post, who told them that an unknown person took the ID at approximately 1000 hours. It was later found that the ID was still at 711 South Maguire and it was returned to the juvenile. No crime had occurred and this case is closed.
On 09/12/2024 at approximately 2157 hours, Officers were contacted by Samantha
Reyes in regards to a juvenile walking away from their home in the 100 block of Grover Street. The juvenile was located and returned Home.
On 09/13/2024 at approximately 0122 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Grover Street in regards to a domestic disturbance between two male subjects. Ean Daniel Kenyon, 23, was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released with a signed summons for Domestic Assault.
On 9/12/2024 at approximately 0800 hours, Officers were contacted by the Warrensburg Middle School Principal who advised that a juvenile student was found to be in possession of a nicotine vape and an airplane bottle of vodka. The items were provided to me for evidence and a juvenile referral will be completed and provided to the Johnson County Juvenile Office.
On 9/13/24 at 1032 hours, Officers responded to an assault in progress in the 300 Block of Grover Street. A male suspect was identified however the male victim did not want to pursue charges. The victim did not reside in the home, therefore domestic charges were not sought.
On 9/13/2024 at 1331 hours, Officers were advised by the Warrensburg Middle School Principal that a student was found to be in possession of a nicotine vape and
a THC vape. The items were collected as evidence. A juvenile referral will be completed and provided to the Johnson County Juvenile Office.
On 9/13/2024 at 1554 hours, Officers responded to a retail store at 301 East Cooper Boulevard in reference to a trespassing report. Asset Protection reported that a female subject was inside the business after being previously trespassed. Amber Marie Murphy, 35, was arrested on a charge of Trespassing. She was cited and released on scene.
On 9/13/24 at approximately 2337 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of
Grover Street for a report of a noise complaint. Upon arrival, Jordan Noah Alvarez, 22, was issued a citation on scene for violating noise restrictions.
On 9/14/2024 at 0907 hours, Austin Brock reported that his vehicle was stolen from 127 West Culton Street. Brock last saw his vehicle on Friday 9/13/2024 at 2330 hours and discovered it was stolen today 9/14/2024 at 0840 hours. Investigation ongoing.
On 09/14/24 at approximately 1732 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Broad Street in reference to a disturbance in progress reported by Betty Miller. Upon arrival, Faythe Leigh Dailey 29, was arrested for Domestic Assault and placed in the Johnson County Jail on a 24 hour hold, pending charges.
On 9/14/24 at approximately 2115 hours, Officers were dispatched to the Police Department for a report of a theft. A female subject stated she was on Pine
St. last night and her wallet was stolen out of her pocket. Investigation continues.
On 9/14/24 at approximately 2336 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of
Anderson Street for a report of a suicidal subject. Upon arrival, a male subject was willingly taken to the hospital for mental health evaluation.
On 9/15/24 at approximately 0302 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of
Pine Street for a report of a missing person. Jennifer DePee reported that a known female subject left the bars around 2100 hours after a fight with a known male subject. DePee stated she extremely intoxicated and had to be on foot. The female subject was located safe at a friend's residence.
On 09/15/24 at approximately 0622 Hours, Officers extradited a male subject from
the Henry County Jail for active warrants through Warrensburg from 2022 on original charges of Trespassing. Eric Anthony Hopkins, 45, was placed in the Johnson County Jail in lieu of Bond.
On 9/15/24 at 0835 hours, Officers took a report of a shoplifting that occurred on 9/14/24 at around 2148 hours in the 1000 Block of South Maguire Street. A known female suspect left the store without paying for items. Investigation ongoing.
On 9/15/24 at 1252 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a green Chrysler Pacifica in the 100 Block of North Maguire Street. Paul Anthony Cox, 58, was arrested for Driving While Revoked. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released on charges of DWR, No Insurance, and Improper Registration.
On 09/15/24 at approximately 1542 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block
of King Street in reference to theft past occurred reported by phone by Ethan Gerbig. Ethan reported that the items were stolen from his unlocked apartment between the hours of 1300 and 1400 hours on 09/15/24. Investigation ongoing.
On 9/15/2024 at 1815 hours, Officers spoke with Jerry Short Jr. about an order of protection violation. The violation occurred at 102 S Holden St #B during a child custody exchange. The Johnson County Prosecutors Office was contacted regarding the violation.
On 9/15/24 at approximately 2023 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of
3rd St. for a report of a trespassing. Upon arrival, a female subject stated that a known male subject came onto her property and knocked on the door. Cirino Cruz Jimenez, 33, was later arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and booked and released for Trespassing.
On 9/15/24 at approximately 2242 hours, I conducted a traffic stop on a black
Chevrolet Malibu around Gay and Maguire St. Malea Dianne Cornelius, 19, was arrested for Driving While Revoked. Cornelius was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and then placed in the Johnson County Jail.
*The other citations for Fugate included Improper Lane Usage, Expired Plates, and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility.
